Stephanie Schaub, an artist, metalsmith, and entrepreneur residing in the historic city of Frederick, Maryland, weaves nature's essence into her jewelry creations. Though she has always been a creative person, her journey into the world of art commenced at Towson University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 3D Object Design, immersing herself in the world of metalsmithing—a craft that would soon become her passion and profession.

In 2016, Stephanie pursued her craft and established her small jewelry business, The Dwelling Gem, specializing in one-of-a-kind sterling silver jewelry; She infuses her pieces with a dreamy aesthetic that embodies the whimsy of this world and beyond. She also enjoys electroplating nature specimens in copper as one of her signature creations. Her craft reflects a clean aesthetic, juxtaposing organic forms with sleek design. In 2021, Stephanie took the leap to pursue her passion full-time and now The Dwelling Gem is her sole career.

With a profound connection to the natural world cultivated during her upbringing in rural Maryland and summers spent at her grandparent's beach house in Ocean City, Stephanie finds inspiration in the rich landscapes surrounding her. Now settled in the foothills of the Appalachians in Frederick, nature continues to serve as a guiding influence in her work.

Stephanie's 2024 debut collection, Venus Adorned, marks her entry into the professional art scene, showcasing her distinctive style and craftsmanship. While her journey as a working artist officially began with The Dwelling Gem, her impact reverberates worldwide, with her jewelry adorning individuals far and wide. Since the Venus Adorned gallery debut, she has joined the NoMa Gallery Artist collective and now has her work displayed year round on Market Street in downtown Frederick, MD.

Recognized for her contributions to the local arts community, Stephanie was honored as the Best Jewelry Retailer of Frederick, MD, in 2023 by Sass Magazine. Additionally, she co-founded a collective of women-owned small businesses, organizing quarterly pop-up events in downtown Frederick, fostering a vibrant creative ecosystem.
