The Glacial Crown Necklace

A jewel that feels unearthed from an ancient treasury, The Glacial Crown centers around a striking aquamarine-toned Bridewell Stone, cut into a bold hexagonal form that evokes both sacred geometry and relic-like power. There is something undeniably regal in its presence—like a piece once worn by a goddess of ice, memory, or tides.

The stone itself carries the signature beauty of Bridewell creation: internal crystalline formations that resemble frozen movement across a glacial lake. Within its depths, soft icy blues shift into deeper, more concentrated tones at the heart of the inclusions, giving the impression of depth, pressure, and stillness held in suspension. Slightly opaque yet highly luminous, it feels less like a gem and more like captured elements.

Framing the stone is a handcrafted fine silver setting, built with deliberate intensity—adorned with bold silver spikes and spaced granulation that lend a sculptural, almost tribal quality. The contrast between the sharp architectural metalwork and the fluid, frozen interior of the stone creates a powerful tension: refined yet primal, celestial yet grounded.

Suspended from an adjustable 19-inch diamond-cut sterling silver rolo chain, the necklace catches light with subtle shimmer, enhancing the brilliance of the central stone without overpowering it.

Pendant is appx. 2 inches tall and 1 inch wide

About the Bridewell Stone
At the heart of this piece is a Bridewell Stone, a contemporary studio-created gemstone developed in Kentucky by Ray and Amy Bridewell. It begins as natural quartz that is carefully melted and reformed under extreme heat within kiln environments. As it cools and recrystallizes, it develops entirely unique internal structures—forming naturalistic patterns reminiscent of snowflakes, ice shards, and frozen mineral landscapes.

Each stone is then hand-selected and cut into highly polished cabochons, revealing its layered depth and ethereal coloration, often ranging through icy blues and soft violets. With a hardness of approximately 6.5, Bridewell Stone offers both durability and exceptional visual softness, making it well-suited for fine jewelry.

Because every crystal forms through a process of controlled transformation rather than repetition, no two Bridewell Stones are ever alike—each one is a singular expression of geological artistry.
